ETIAS: European Travel Information and Authorization System, A New Visa-Waiver System

ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System, which is the new travel regulations introduced by the European Union. The proposal for ETIAS, the new authorization system was introduced back in the year 2018 but after three years it will finally be launched. It will be active from 1st January 2021. It is advised to apply for your own ETIAS before planning on visiting any of the European nations as you will not be allowed entry in Europe without ETIAS from 2021.

But ETIAS   not for everyone. They are only for those who belong to a total of 62 countries that allowed the entry of visitors in the European nations without having their visas. The rest of the visitors will remain unaffected upon the launch of this new visa-waiver system.

ETIAS will permit you to stay in the countries belonging to Europe for a period of 90 days at once. There are a total of 44 countries in the continent of Europe. From these 44, 26 belong to the Schengen Border Area. These 26 countries are known as Schengen Border Countries.

There are a total of 26 countries in the world that comes under the Schengen Area Border.  The 26 countries including, Spain, Denmark, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Finland, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Latvia, Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. The Schengen Border has a population of 400 million.

The procedure for applying for ETIAS is very convenient. You just have to visit the official website of ETIAS. You will get an application form here. This form will be no different than any other kind of application form that you get online. You will have to enter your basic details like your name, age, gender, nationality, date of birth, etc. Right after submitting the form you will know about your verification. About 95% of people will receive the decision of applying for ETIAS within minutes.

Once approved, ETIAS will let you stay in these European Nations for a period of 90 days one at a time. However, the validity of ETIAS will last three years from the date of the issue but in case the validity of your passport expires before the ETIAS then your ETIAS would be of no use.

ETIAS, the European Travel Information, and Authorization System will let you stay in the European nations for the purpose of business and visiting.
